One of my deepest passions is to better understand how to create compelling marketing campaigns that engage todays extremely busy, always multi-tasking and permanently distracted consumer.
As CEO of a social media company (Social Span Media LLC), I am constantly approached by clients looking for ways to engage with the tens of millions of consumers visiting social networking websites such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn every day.
I’m starting Strategicast as a public forum focusing on the many challenges that marketers face in todays fast changing world of new media and social network marketing. I hope to not only share topics of immediate interest but also begin discussions on industry best practices.
About me:
Nikhil Nilakantan is the President & CEO of Social Span Media LLC, an interactive media company that specializes in helping clients extend their product and brand strategies by building virally engaging marketing solutions for social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Hi5, Orkut, and LinkedIn, among many others. Nikhil is also Founder & Principal Consultant at Inventive Path LLC, a product strategy and innovation consulting firm based in Dallas, TX.
Nikhil has more than 9 years of global experience including work for Fortune 500 companies such as Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft during which time he held various roles in Strategy, Marketing and Product Development. Aside from his extensive corporate experience, Nikhil holds an MBA in Marketing & Strategy from SMU’s Cox School of Business and a BS in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology. Nikhil also has three software design patents pending with the US Patent office.
Before founding Inventive Path and Social Span Media, Nikhil worked for Texas Instruments Inc. where he was one of the lead Product Managers for the TI-Nspire (TM) handheld product family which he helped design and launch world wide.
Nikhil is passionate about all things associated with new media marketing, web 2.0 technologies, product & marketing innovation and social networking.
